Startup story #1: Meet two man who are bringing creativity to your everyday products | Bewakoof.com startup story


 The spirit of entrepreneurship is spreading in India through very fast pace. India has the third largest startup ecosystem. One example can be of two founders Siddharth Munot and Prabhkiran Singh , who left their job and become a successful entrepreneur.

Siddharth Munot and Prabhkiran Singh both are IITians. They both wanted to be entrepreneur. Siddharth was working with an educational startup while Prabhkiran was working for his own startup named Khadke gLASSI. Prabhkiran startup did not worked well and eventually shut down.
Both the firends met and agreed to start a startup called Bewakoof.com

Bewakoof.com is engaged in selling shirts, mobile covers, bag packs, jackets, pants and many more products, but wait, these all are not just simple products but printed with nice design. It was launched in 1 April 2012 in Mumbai. The idea behind the startup is to make more attractive and printed products to be used in every day life.

The model

The main buyers of Bewakoof are the youth. The products they sell contains various quotes and humourous picture. Quotes are used to describe everyone's interest. They have very well maintained online user base. They are active very much on the internet and social network. The company has a very big follower base on Facebook and also organise various college campaign, this helps company to gain popularity among youth and colleague students. The domain name is very catchy as well as. The name Bewakoof means silky or innocent, a good name for marketing purpose.

Bewakoof.com has sold over 4 million products till date and has a user base of around 2.3 million user base. It has a turnover of 10 million rupees and is rapidly growing. It earlier also operated offline in stores but now it only operate online.

Startup should be full of creativity and innovation. More simple and humourous designs can be combined with buiseness and thus will not hurt your professionalism. Small but innovative ideas can be turned into successful startup with consistency.
